Last Friday, the fire ban was lifted in ten of the county's fifteen municipalities. On Sunday, the rescue services decided to lift the ban in Umeå, Robertsfors and Vindeln municipality as well.
- The decision means that it is again permissible to fire in forest and land. However, the fire service calls for continued caution. Whoever fires is always responsible for it being done safely, writes the Umeå region's fire defense in a press release.
Now it is only in Skellefteå and Norsjö that there is a fire ban in the county. There, more rain awaits.
- We will keep it. We will make a decision on Monday about what the situation looks like. There has not been as much rain here. It will not be claimed until it is wet in all places, says Åke Dahlqvist, emergency response officer in readiness.
