The toll of the typhoon Lekima, which has hit the Shanghai region where one million people have been evacuated, is getting worse in China. According to the latest updates provided by the authorities, there are 28 dead and 20 missing. Eighteen of the victims were buried by a landslide in Wenzhou, 400 kilometers from Shanghai, where ten people are still missing.

The typhoon struck with winds up to 187 kilometers per hour and with powerful swells on the coast, lashed by waves several meters high.
