“This year, the celebration of the 28th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence will be held in a new format,” the press service said.

In Zelensky’s office, they added that an action plan on the occasion of Ukraine’s Independence Day has been approved, which is traditionally celebrated on August 24.

On this day, a nationwide minute of silence will be held, during which 100 bells will sound in different cities. Together with Zelensky, the event will be attended by relatives and friends of the deceased “defenders of Ukraine’s independence”, as well as veterans of military operations in the Donbass.

There will also be a March of Defenders of Ukraine.

At the same time, the main accent of celebrations is called “children as the future of the country”.

Earlier, the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Bogdan said that on August 24 in Kiev, instead of the parade, a procession of dignity will be held.
