The EU commented on missile launches in North Korea

The European Union commented on the missile launches of North Korea. As stated in a statement by the European Foreign Service (EMU), the DPRK continues to undermine international work to build confidence and establish lasting peace and security on the Korean Peninsula.

“We expect that the DPRK will refrain from any further provocations, comply with its stated obligations and fully comply with its international obligations as defined in numerous UN Security Council resolutions,” the report said.

In addition, the EU hopes that "the DPRK will quickly resume negotiations at the working level with the United States."

Earlier, the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Republic of Korea said that the DPRK launched two short-range missiles.

On the night of August 6, South Korea reported that the DPRK launched "unidentified shells" from its east coast.

Subsequently, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un called missile launches a warning to the United States and South Korea in response to their joint exercises.
