It is Blekinge County newspaper which states that Jacob Bergström himself writes in a text message to the newspaper that he has a tender from Mjøndalen, who is recording the Norwegian elite series.

Mjällby's chairman Magnus Emeus tells the newspaper that the club does not intend to stop Bergström if he wants to leave and that negotiations are ongoing with another club, even if Emeus himself does not want to say which club.

- Jacob has explicitly asked himself to leave if such a chance should emerge, says Magnus Emeus to BLT.

He goes on to say:

- Probably it will be solved for Jacob. But he will play at least three games with us before the Norwegian transfer window closes on 31 August.
