The Ministry of Interior announced yesterday the expansion of the application of the electronic police surveillance system in the emirates of Ajman and Fujairah after its launch last April. It is expected to be implemented nationwide.

The implementation of electronic police surveillance is an alternative punishment for imprisonment, pursuant to Decree Law No. 17 of 2018 amending certain provisions of the Federal Criminal Procedure Law No. 35 of 1992.

The Deputy Commander of Ajman Police, Brigadier Abdullah Ahmed Alhamrani, has launched an alternative system of electronic police surveillance, praising the characteristics of the smart system and its advantages, within the mechanism of its implementation procedures, to serve the objectives set in the strategic plan.

Acting Attorney General of Ajman Prosecutor Abdullah Ali Nasser Al Balushi said: “The launch of this system comes within the framework of the vision and leadership of the UAE government and its endeavor to achieve and spread happiness and raise the quality of life, and we are proud to be one of the first countries in the world in the implementation of systems that promote values Humanity, and show its civilized role in the attention and development of individuals and strengthen their capabilities ».

He added: «This system is part of the efforts to enhance the services provided to the inmates and convicts, and efforts to rehabilitate them to return productive individuals who are able to participate in the building of society», pointing to «the work of judicial bodies with the executive authorities in the country towards a smooth, fair and flexible implementation that achieves the basic objectives of the application of this system Smart.

In Fujairah, the Director General of Police Operations in Fujairah, Brigadier Humaid Mohammed Al Yamahi, the Chief of Fujairah Public Prosecution, and the Attorney General, Saeed Khalfan Al Dhabahi, launched the electronic police surveillance system.

Colonel Rashid Hamad Al Yamahi, head of the Fujairah Police e-Police Implementation Team, said that the implementation of e-police supervision reflects positively on enhancing the happiness, security and stability of society, pointing out to the keenness of the police authorities on the optimal use of modern technologies in providing services consistent with the best international practices. The digital transformation in the implementation of conditional surveillance of convicts will have a positive impact on the application of monitoring provisions.

For his part, Director of the Federal Police Care and Follow-up Department at the Ministry of Interior Colonel Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Shamsi said that work is underway to implement the plan for the implementation of the smart monitoring system, according to its stages, which has been adopted in coordination with strategic partners, to include all the emirates of the country, where qualified and trained And follow-up police human cadres, within programs and plans developed in coordination with all police leaders, strategic partners and relevant authorities through the holding of courses and workshops to ensure the achievement of the desired results and work on the follow-up of outputs, and develop opportunities for improvement Imams and continuing to improve the system of smart police surveillance, leading to an integrated rise in services provided.

He stressed the ministry's keenness to implement the directives of the UAE government in providing security services consistent with the best international practices through the expansion of the use of modern and innovative technologies, pointing out that the ministry has a technical infrastructure is the latest regional, stressing that the digital transformation in the implementation of police surveillance of the convicts will have a positive impact In the application of control provisions.

National cadres manage operating theaters

The Deputy Director of Federal Police Care and Follow-up Department, Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Ali Mubarak Al Zaabi, said that the Ministry worked with partners to provide operating rooms equipped with all equipment, in the presence of national cadres trained on a system characterized by speed and accuracy in the identification of data entered, and characterized by confidentiality and comprehensiveness of all police sectors in the country, The technical tools and accessories used are assembled and encrypted locally at the Ministry of Interior, making the UAE one of the first and leading countries in the containment of this plant on its territory with international specifications and standards that suit the health and Targeted groups in electronic monitoring, where work has been done in accordance with the guidance of the police leadership to develop capacities and follow-up procedures at the level of police leaders to work in an integrated manner in coordination with the judicial authorities in the prosecution and courts, to ensure the implementation of the monitoring system in accordance with the plan to ensure the effectiveness of its implementation, in line with the strategic objectives of the Ministry Interior.
