"A ceremony was held in Tulun for the awarding of servicemen of the Russian Defense Ministry group who took part in the aftermath of the flood in the Tulun district of the Irkutsk region," the statement said.
The military of the mechanized battalion of the railway connection of the Central Military District restored sections of the coastal protective dam on the Oia River, as well as cleared 100 hectares of rubble from the territory and dismantled more than 70 houses destroyed by the flood.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin admitted that rehabilitation work in the Irkutsk region could go off schedule due to a new flood.
