It is the city traffic in Katrineholm, Flen and Nyköping that will continue to be exclusively electric traffic.

In total, there will be 24 new electric buses in the region, which so far only had electric buses in Eskilstuna. There, 12 buses have been running on the biogas propellant since December 2015.

Ten-year agreement

Nobina Sweden will be the company that will run the buses in southern and western Sörmland from 18 August. The agreement extends over ten years and is worth approximately SEK 2.5 billion.

In addition to electric buses, the procurement involves more modern buses with wifi and charging possibilities on all buses. The regional buses will be equipped with two baby car seats and a number of car pads for larger children.

Satisfied travelers

Sörmlandstrafiken also hopes for more satisfied travelers, as the compensation to the carrier will be based in part on the number of satisfied travelers and punctuality.

- A major change will be that up to 30 percent of Nobina's compensation will be the so-called customer satisfaction guarantee. So our previous agreements have not looked like, says Åsa Bjerke, operations manager at Sörmlandstrafiken.
