The Dubai Criminal Court has sentenced five Asians to three years in prison after being convicted of assaulting a customer at a massage center with baseball bats and swords.
The Dubai Public Prosecutor's Office reported that a report was received by the Dubai Police about an attack on an Arab receptionist in Al Muraqqabat Street who was also tried for robbery and threatening others with a knife, but the court acquitted him.
The Arab receptionist said that a friend invited him to an apartment which is a massage center in Al-Muraqqabat area. When they arrived, he saw the five defendants, accompanied by two women. A public conversation took place until his friend verbally clashed with them and insulted them. He asked his friend to leave the apartment when he saw them angry.
He added that he separated from his friend after leaving the building because of the latter's desire to go to his apartment, while he went to a shop opposite the building that witnessed the incident, and when he came out of the store was surprised with them and one of the women in the face, and they advertise in his face knives and baseball bats, and beat him even He was unbalanced and fell to the ground.He did not deter them.He continued to beat and kick him until he fainted, woke up to find himself in the hospital, and continued to be treated for violent assault so far. On the other hand, one of the Asian defendants in the investigation of the Public Prosecution said that he did not attend the verbal altercation that took place in the apartment, but was contacted by one of his other friends to tell him that the Arab employee stole a phone from the apartment used in the work of massage, and demanding money, he went there, and went to The kitchen to review the surveillance cameras and confirm what happened, and was surprised by the Arab accused attached to him and waving him in the face of a knife, and then placed on the neck, and stolen his wallet and phone and a golden chain, pointing out that he initiated the escape from the apartment after that, while the Arab continued to steal other items from the place before he Leaves. The Asian defendant added that he received a later call to the effect that the Arab employee was in a grocery store in front of the building «Vhsarh there and assaulted him with iron bars, because of what he did with us in the apartment».
An Arab eyewitness said she was accidentally passing in the street, and saw a group of Asians running in a frightening manner, assaulting a person very harshly, while the latter was carrying a knife in his hand and waving it until they got away from him, pointing out that one of the Asians beat him on his leg Another witness struck him with a sword. She pointed out that he was carrying a knife in his hand, but another person came and took her out of his hand and asked not to inform the police, but an ambulance arrived and took him to the hospital.
The Dubai Criminal Court began the trial of the Asian defendants and the Arab employee, and ended in the innocence of the latter and convict Asians and imprisonment for three years and then deportation.
