Woman suspected of being sexually exploited - riot in Linköping

The police were alerted to Skäggetorp in Linköping, 00.10 the night against Friday. A reporter stated that a young woman had been subjected to a sexual offense in an apartment nearby.

When police arrived at the scene, several people had gathered around a man in his 20s.

- It had formed a crowd and it was almost a lynching mood, says police officer Torbjörn Lindqvist.

The 20-year-old man was arrested and the police remained at the scene to calm down affected people.

The woman has now been taken to hospital for medical examination. The police do not want to provide more details about the incident, nor do they say what kind of sexual crime it should have been.

Police say that during the summer it has been messy in Skäggetorp and earlier in the evening a police car was vandalized and a policeman was crowded and allowed to use pepper spray.
