“The anti-submarine forces of the Northern Fleet have begun a large-scale exercise to neutralize the threat from the actions of submarines of a conditional enemy in the middle sea zone,” the statement said.

In addition, the IL-38 and Tu-142 aircraft will support sailors in detecting and tracking submarines of a conditional enemy.

In the course of the exercises, torpedo firing and bombing are also planned.

Earlier, the Arctic detachment of ships and vessels of the Northern Fleet conducted anti-terrorist exercises in the area of ​​Novaya Zemlya.

On August 8, the Kryminform agency reported that the crew of the small anti-submarine ship Muromets of the Black Sea Fleet conducted artillery firing at an air target.
