From Tuesday, however, the temperatures will drop while remaining on summer values, the heat will therefore be more bearable. The forecasts are by Andrea Giuliacci, meteorologist for Meteo Expert-Meteo.it.

"Between today and Monday - he explains - the high pressure will tighten the grip on Italy. The highest temperatures will be recorded in the South, with values ​​well above the norm. Almost everywhere the maximum values ​​will be around 30 degrees but we can have peaks of 40 degrees in the inland areas of Sicily and Sardinia, and of 38-39 in Puglia and Calabria ". The weather will always be beautiful, with the exception of the alpine areas where it will be possible to experience heat storms, which are short-lived (maximum one hour).

A little respite from Tuesday
From Tuesday, cooler and drier currents will arrive that will lower the temperatures. In August, according to Giuliacci, it will still be hot without excesses in the South (30-34 degrees, with peaks of 35-36), while at Centronord the temperatures will be between 28 and 32 degrees with peaks of 33-34.

Sunday 8 city from 'red stamp'
Meanwhile, the Health Ministry indicates with the red stamp, for Sunday, Brescia, Campobasso (also today and tomorrow), Florence, Frosinone, Latina, Perugia, Rieti and Rome. It is the maximum alarm level that signals "emergency conditions with possible negative effects on the health of healthy and active people and not only on risk groups such as the elderly, very young children and people with chronic diseases".
