“Tokyo’s desire to politicize such an important international sporting event as the Olympics and Japan’s obvious abuse of the role of the host country of the games designed to promote the unity of nations is deeply regrettable,” Zakharova said.
Earlier it became known that on the official website of the Olympic Games - 2020 the South Kuril Islands designated part of Japan.
Zakharova, commenting on the situation, said that such actions are unauthorized.
