- We have to spend an hour a day cleaning for people who do not throw things in the right place. It doesn't go in the long run, says Peter Kristiansson at Ekdahl Miljö, one of the companies operating the station.

The problem of scrap has increased in recent years, notes Magnus Sandström, regional manager at FTI, Packaging and newspaper collection.

- I don't know what it is. It is not just the recycling stations that are scrapped. Scrap is thrown along the roads and everywhere.

Soon the fifth will close

In the past year, four recycling stations have been closed in the Malmö district. Now it stands on Oxie church road in turn.

- It's too sad. But I can understand that they do not want it, says Waltraud Olsen.

She often visits the recycling station in Oxie and has noticed that garbage is thrown in the wrong place.

- They don't see how thin it is. They even make sofas here.

"Everyone loses on the garbage"

The Packaging and Newspaper Collection, which is an umbrella organization for recycling companies, sees only losers in the waste.

- It affects us who have a responsibility to recover a certain percentage. It affects the public and those who want to do the right thing for themselves, says Magnus Sandström.

- When a station is closed you get much longer to go. The risk is that the rubbish instead ends up in the household garbage.

Had camera surveillance been a solution?

- Cameras would have been great if we had been granted permission.
