- It's fantastic that we got a Pride train in Hagfors. This is especially important in a rural county, where you may feel that everything is happening in the residential city. Nobody cares about us who live in Årjäng, Torsby and Hagfors, Filipstad and Storfors. That is why we feel it is extra important for us to get to these places, says Hazel Svensson about expanding the festival.

"Important"

Last year, the Pride Parade went through Arvika and now Hagfors for the first time, but Hazel Svensson feels no concern about Pride spreading and thinning out.

- I think there are many hbtq + people who feel that they have been given a day when they can be the norm, it only happens once a year during the Pride festival. But we also have many others who are in the parade with any organization to which they belong or as individuals, or they stand next to and cheer. It is also very important. We can't do everything.

Women are being noticed

Throughout August, lectures, panel discussions and activities where diversity and acceptance are in focus. And then there is an artistic news, which goes by the name "Mom + mom + child".

- It is Ellen Källback and Erik Hjort who have painted a number of paintings, says Hazel Svensson.

- We have noticed that in previous years we did not focus so much on women in the LGBT + spectrum. The theme is about single women and women in the struggle for same-sex relationships for the right to have their own children.

The art exhibition is officially inaugurated at the City Library in Karlstad, but will be visible in several places during the month of the prize.
