Lorient became provisional leader of the Ligue 2 after his draw in Nancy (1-1) on Friday, followed in the rankings by the promoted Rodez and Chambly, after the third day of the championship.

The evening was difficult in Alsace for Lorient: the defender of Merlus Julien Laporte scored a goal against his camp (58th) before Claude Maurice, freshly entered, converted the penalty equalizer (70th).

Lorient even had to finish the match at ten after the expulsion of Yoane Wissa (78th).

Le Petit Poucet Rodez, just promoted in L2, continued his idyllic start to the season thanks to Pierre Ruffaut (38th) and Pierre Bardy (90th + 1), who doubled on the wire the Paris FC, reduced to ten from the 28th after the expulsion of Ousmane Kanté, and who had opened the score by Romain Armand (30th).

Like Rodez, the other promoted, Chambly, posted a record of two wins and a draw at the end of this third league game, where he managed to hold his point of 0-0 against Grenoble.

The start of the weekend was also marked by the first victories of the season for the two relegated L1, Caen Ajaccio (2-1) and Guingamp against Orleans (1-0).

In the other meetings, Le Mans, the red lantern, went on a third setback in three games, losing to Valenciennes (2-1).

Niort made the boxing of the evening, by winning 3-0 on his ground against a Châteauroux reduced to ten from the 27th.

After two draws, Sochaux, thanks to Fabien Ourega (51st), managed to get his first win of the season at home against Auxerre (1-0).

Just like the Havrais on the ground of Troyes, who knew how to hold their advantage (2-1) in spite of the exclusion of the first scorer, Tino Kadewere (68e).

The third day of Ligue 2 will end Saturday, with the clash of former coleaders between Clermont and RC Lens, who want to hold the pace of a third success in three games.
