Foreign Ministry summoned US diplomat due to State Department publication on Moscow rally

“We emphasized that we regard the placement of the scheme drawn up by the organizers of the illegal event as campaigning in favor of participating in it and a call to action, which is an attempt to intervene in the internal affairs of our country,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

Earlier, the Federation Council’s Commission on the Prevention of Intervention in the Internal Affairs of Russia stated in the committee that on August 2 a map was posted on Twitter of the Consular Affairs Department of the US State Department indicating the time, places of gathering and route of the protesters in Moscow.

As noted in the commission, “it is clear that this is nothing but the agitation of the organizers of the action, since the Russian text with a call to gather has been saved in the picture.”

Also on August 8, the Russian Foreign Ministry pointed out the inadmissibility of the actions of the German television and radio company Deutsche Welle, which directly called on the residents of Moscow to participate in unauthorized actions.
