In his opinion, Russia leaves the door open after its reaction to Erdogan’s statement that Russia is not recognized as Crimea, RIA Novosti reports.

“As the deputy of the Crimean parliament Vladislav Ganzhara correctly stated, if Ankara considers itself a strategic partner of Russia, she needs to understand that Crimea is an integral part of Russia,” he said.

As the deputy noted, Erdogan "understands that Crimea belongs to Russia."

“For the further development of our relations, it remains only to openly say this to the people,” said Perincek.

Earlier, Erdogan at a press conference with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that Turkey "did not and will not recognize the illegal annexation of Crimea."

The Federation Council commented on the words of the Turkish President to the FAN.

Crimea became the Russian region after a referendum held in March 2014, in which most residents spoke out for reunification with Russia.
