The ministry emphasized that "in general, the current situation in the bread market is assessed as stable, without sharp price fluctuations."
Earlier, RBC, citing Rosstat data, reported that in the first seven months of 2019, the cost of bread and bakery products in Russia increased by 7.7% compared to the same period in 2018.
In mid-July, it became known that experts are reducing forecasts for the harvest of some crops in Russia this year due to weather conditions, but in general the situation remains optimistic. The expected harvest of wheat has been reduced from 82 million tons to 78 million tons due to drought in several regions. Pi noted that the quality of wheat will be higher.
Sunflower harvest will be good, but less than last year, the situation with soybeans and rapeseed will remain at the level of last year.
