“Yesterday at 14:00 the visa center had a lot of people, a lot of customers, but the atmosphere was very calm and decent. So I admire how Russians quietly stand in line, ”RIA Novosti quoted the diplomat as saying.

According to him, there is no need to queue in the center. He advised to make an appointment in advance or choose the best time for visiting the center - from 09:00 to 12:30.

Earlier it became known that Finland from September 1 will begin to request from citizens of Russia when applying for a Schengen visa all the necessary supporting documents, as required by EU directives.

The Russians will have to collect the entire package of documents, including information on the place of residence, tickets, as well as confirmation of the availability of financial resources.

The Consulate General of Finland in St. Petersburg, as Nation News reported, commented on the tightening of the rules for obtaining Schengen.

They also noted that the Russians are in a hurry to apply for visas before September 1: since the beginning of August the number of relevant applications has increased significantly and has led to queues at the visa center in St. Petersburg.
