“A meeting between Dmitry Medvedev and Sergey Rumas is being worked out in Cholpon-Ata to discuss current issues ... the progress of work on a program of action to implement the provisions of the agreement on the creation of the Union State,” RIA Novosti quoted a government representative as saying.

He also noted that "the EAEU (Eurasian Economic Union. - RT ) and the Union State harmoniously complement each other."

“The positive experience of interaction can push other partners to further deepen cooperation,” the representative of the Cabinet added.

According to him, Russia and Belarus often "act as a locomotive for promoting new multilateral initiatives."

In July, Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko invited his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to remove all issues in bilateral relations on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Union Treaty in December 2019.
