“During the conversation with Roman Suschenko ... personal, we also discussed the prospects of exchange, liberation. In the summer, Roman signed, on the initiative of the Russian side, a paper on his consent to serve his sentence in Ukraine. But to exaggerate the significance of this fact is not worth it. These papers can lie in folders long enough, waiting in the wings, ”Feigin quoted Ukrinform.

On June 4, 2018, the Moscow City Court sentenced Suschenko to 12 years in prison.

He was detained in Moscow in the fall of 2016. According to the FSB, Sushchenko, as an employee of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, collected secret information about the activities of the Russian Armed Forces and the Russian Guard.

In November 2018, it was reported that Sushchenko would serve his sentence in the Kirov region.
