Kyrgyz President Speaks at Extraordinary Parliamentary Meeting


President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov made a speech at an extraordinary parliamentary meeting, which was convened due to the situation in the country.

It is reported by RIA Novosti.

“It is very painful, so many people have suffered,” he said.

On August 7, Kyrgyz special services began an operation to detain ex-president Almazbek Atambayev at his residence in the village of Koy-Tash. According to recent reports, 52 people were injured as a result of the assault, one was killed.

It was not possible to detain the ex-president. Atambayev said he intends to hold a rally in Bishkek.
