Berlin (AP) - The novel "Murder in the Orient Express" is one of the classics of crime fiction - now brings actress Katharina Thalbach (65) the story on the theater stage.
The German premiere is planned for 22 March 2020 in Berlin, said the comedy on Kurfürstendamm on Thursday. The costumes are to come from fashion designer Guido Maria Kretschmer (54).
"For the first time Agatha Christie's famous thriller is available in an official stage version," said the theater. The version comes from the American playwright Ken Ludwig. The actress Thalbach directs and is also on stage - as a private detective Hercule Poirot, who wants to go by train from Istanbul to London.
Her daughter Anna Thalbach and her granddaughter Nellie Thalbach are also to take on roles in the staging. The Kudamm stages are currently playing in an alternative location. Because the old venues were demolished, the performances take place temporarily in the Schiller Theater. In the year 2022 the Kudammbühnen will move back to the Kurfürstendamm.
