U.S. and Turkey agree to establish "safe zone" in northern Syria

The United States and Turkey agreed to set up a joint operations headquarters to establish a “safe zone” in northern Syria, where the civil war continues. Turkey wants to return Syrian refugees to a “safe zone” and is paying attention to whether this concept will be realized.

In Syria, the Kurdish forces, with the support of the United States, began to dominate the north as the extremist organization IS = Islamic State was swept away. We regard it as a terrorist organization linked to struggle and warn the United States that we will take military action unless we establish a “safe zone” to separate it from the border.

Under these circumstances, a senior US military officer visited Ankara, Turkey's capital, discussed with a senior defense minister, and the results were announced on the 7th.
According to it, the two countries agreed to set up a joint operational headquarters for the establishment of a “safe zone” as soon as possible, and agreed to make every effort to allow Syrian refugees to return home.

In Syria, where the civil war continues, it has been pointed out that many of the refugees are unable to return home in fear of the Assad administration as the Assad administration overwhelms the rebels. I'd like to install and send refugees back.

The United States and Turkey are concerned about the fact that Turkey has purchased the latest missile system from Russia, and attention is paid to whether the concept of a safe zone will be realized.
