Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said his country would face any attack on its sovereignty by land, sea or air.

Rouhani said during a speech in Tehran that his country would be peaceful if dealt with on this basis, and will respond only to the aggressors as he put it.

He recalled the incident of targeting a US drone, and said that targeting it "very important", but "targeting this plane through Iranian devices and home-made rockets is more important than that."

He stressed that his country would respond to anyone who violates its sovereignty by all available means.

Yesterday, Rouhani said Tehran supported talks with Washington if sanctions were lifted.

The commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guards, Major General Hossein Salami, said the Iranian armed forces were ready to defend Iranian territory and borders and would respond to any aggression with full force.

Salami said during a visit to the border headquarters of the Revolutionary Guards in the province of Kermanshah in western Iran, that the security of the Iranian border is a red line for the armed forces, stressing the readiness of the Iranian armed forces to defend the sovereignty of the country, as he put it.

This comes as the United States continues to mobilize its allies to send military units to "protect" navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, where Tel Aviv announced that it will participate in the US coalition, as did Britain, which announced - Monday - that it will join US forces.

In contrast, Germany revealed that it was not considering participating in a US-led naval mission in the Strait of Hormuz, while German officials did not rule out the possibility of participation but within European forces.
