A seventeen year old driver of a moped was arrested in the night of Tuesday to Wednesday after a dangerous chase by the police in Rotterdam. After the chase, he asked for a "rematch" with the officer who was chasing him.
The police will report this via Facebook on Wednesday. Agents saw the moped rider driving at high speed and without lighting around 1 am. The boy ignored a stop sign, after which a chase started.
The boy pulled out various antics during the chase such as a wheelie, swinging, going flat in turns and he rode on footpaths and cycle paths. On the Madernastraat he lost control and drove into a green field. It seemed as if the boy stopped his journey, but then he jumped on his moped.
Eventually the boy could be arrested on Samuel Esmeijerplein. He then asked a cop if he could redo his race with him. The suspect himself did not know why he initially ran away.
The boy's driver's license has been recovered and he will later have to follow a compulsory course on responsible driving (EMG).
