The Ministry of Foreign Affairs today called for a strong protest and regret for the Japanese government's announcement of an enforcement order excluding South Korea from the whitelist and its publication in the Gazette.

Foreign Ministry officials said, "In spite of our continued request for withdrawal and concerns and criticism from the international community, the Japanese government enforced the exclusion of South Korea on the white list."

The official emphasized, "The Japanese government must respond promptly to our proposal to quickly reap unilateral and unfair measures and to gather wisdom in problem solving through dialogue."

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry today issued an amendment to the Export Trade Management Ordinance, which exempts Korea from one-time comprehensive licensing.
