The message came a few days after several objects linked to the teenagers were found on the Nelson River, nine kilometers from the site where they left a burnt-out car on July 22. The two teenagers were found dead during Wednesday morning, local time.

"We believe that these are the bodies of the two suspects," said Deputy Police Chief Jane Maclatchy, reports Sky New.

The bodies should be autopsied

According to the police, the bodies are now to be autopsied, but investigators believe they are the suspected murderers. Several objects with connection to the teens were found by the river.

The two teenagers left their homes on Canada's west coast on July 15. They are suspected of murdering a young tourist couple and a 64-year-old botanist before driving east to the state of Manitoba. An extensive police hunt, supported by divers and the Air Force, has been ongoing since last month to find the two youngsters.
