Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry announced today the amendment of the Export Trade Control Ordinance, which excludes Korea from the so-called 'white list', which lists Korea preferentially for export management.

The Gazette stated that it would amend the Enforcement Decree of the Export Trade Management Act on the basis of the Foreign Exchange Foreign Trade Act, and said that it would remove South Korea from the list of export preferential countries in the separate table that categorizes the exporting countries.

In accordance with the promulgation of the amendment to the Enforcement Decree, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has also published a mastery amendment on our website.

The Enforcement Decree and Notice Amendment will go into effect on the 28th, 21 days after today.

As a result, if a Japanese company exports regulated military items to Korea, the export process will be more complicated.

In addition, if the Japanese government determines that non-regulated items may be used for weapons development, a separate export permit must be obtained.

An official at the Korean Embassy in Sunday said he analyzed the enforcement decrees and notifications of Japan to understand the impact on our industry.
