“The petition for the parole of the convicted Pirumov must be satisfied,” the court decision quoted Interfax as saying.

It is noted that the ex-deputy minister will remain in custody as part of another criminal case in which he was arrested last year.

Pirumov and several others were detained on suspicion of embezzlement of funds allocated for the restoration of cultural heritage in 2016.

In October 2017, the Dorogomilovsky court of Moscow appointed Pirumova 1.5 years in prison for the “case of restorers” and immediately released, offsetting his time in jail.

The verdict was appealed twice by the Prosecutor General, and in January 2019, despite the fact that Pirumov completely compensated the damage, the Moscow City Court extended the term to three years; the first appeal led to a tightening of the amount of the fine - from 300 thousand to 1 million rubles.

In May 2018, Pirumov became a suspect in a case of embezzlement of at least 450 million rubles in the Hermitage.

In April 2019, he was charged with organizing a criminal community in the theft case at the Hermitage.
