“On behalf of the EP subcommittee, I would like to express disappointment at the withdrawal of the United States and Russia from the INF Treaty,” RIA Novosti quoted Luazo as saying.

According to the head of the committee, the INF Treaty has been one of the pillars of international peace for decades, and its completion will have serious consequences for strategic stability.

“We urge the United States and the Russian Federation to enter into dialogue in order to restore confidence and start negotiations with other nuclear states on a possible multilateral agreement on this category of weapons, which would be discussed under the auspices of the UN,” the European Parliament said.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to monitor the US steps to develop the INF. On August 2, the contract terminated.

The United States announced a unilateral withdrawal from the treaty earlier this year.
