06 August 2019The last crossroads will be before the summer break and the M5S and Lega will take different paths, although at least for now they should continue to walk in the same direction without jeopardizing the government's hold. Tomorrow morning, at 9.00 am, the Senate meeting will be convened to examine the six motions presented on the Tav, after the announcement by the Prime Minister, Giuseppe Conte, to continue with the work, leaving the last word to Parliament.

An intention that the M5S has not left unresolved, presenting a motion that "decides to initiate, in parliament, an immediate path aimed at promoting, as far as it is concerned, the adoption of acts that determine the cessation of activities relating to project for the construction and management of the cross-border section of the new Turin-Lyon railway link "and" a different allocation of the resources allocated for the financing of the line in order to promote their reassignment at the entry of the State budget to be subsequently destined to alternative public works, more useful and urgent, on the Italian territory ".

A text on which, at least this is the official line that is emerging, will vote against Pd, Forza Italia and FdI, which will therefore be regularly present in the Chamber, after which in recent days there was talk of a possible flat rate for the blue movement to explode the contradictions within the majority.

Contrasts emerged in all their evidence with the statements of Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini, in total disagreement with those who say they are against the Tav. In any case, questions remain as to what the attitude of the League, which has not presented its own, will be in the Senate texts and that only at the last moment will decide how to evaluate those deposited by other parties, starting naturally from that of the grillini.

In favor of the latter, senators from other groups could also vote. For example Tommaso Cerno, of the Pd, who signed it. Or Loredana De Petris, from Leu, the first signatory of a motion that commits the government "not to proceed with the construction of the Turin-Lyon high-speed railway line", and "to transfer the resources saved on regional rail transport, on the main commuter routes connected to metropolitan areas and public transport ".

A document that has collected the signatures of Maurizio Buccarella, Paola Nugnes, Saverio De Bonis, Carlo Martelli and Francesco Laforgia. In practice, therefore, the 107 M5S votes could add up to seven more, thus reaching 114.

Fi, Pd and Fdi, if present in a compact way, on the paper have 130 votes, to which others could be added, starting from that of Emma Bonino, the first signatory of a motion, also signed by Riccardo Nencini, Pier Ferdinando Casini and Mario Monti, in favor of the Tav.

At that point the League, if its votes were not to be decisive, could also decide not to sink the blow against the government allies, thus avoiding saying no to the text M5S, which will be the first to be discussed, while it could be confirmed the orientation that emerges in these hours to support those presented by the other parties, which commit the government to continue the work for the Table. These are the texts deposited by Forza Italia, Pd, FdI and, as mentioned, '+ Europa'.

A chess game that will remain open until the end, also because, beyond the evaluations on the merit of the question, the opposition could objectively help the majority not to explode the contrasts that seem irremediable on the topic.
