The man who shot three people at a garlic festival in late July in California, had a list of other possible targets. It included religious and political institutions and courts, among others.
FBI employee John Bennett announced this on Tuesday at a press conference. The shooting is seen as domestic terrorism.
Nineteen-year-old Santino William Legan opened fire on July 28 at the Gilroy Garlic Festival, 110 kilometers south of San Francisco. Three people died and thirteen others were injured. Then the shooter shot himself.
Bennett says there is evidence that Legan studied "violent ideologies." His list of possible targets consisted of different organizations throughout the country, including political institutions that are linked to both Democratic and Republican parties.
The FBI agent reports that the list is not made public, but that the organizations on the list have been informed.
