06 August 201916.46 Sergio Ferrara has received the Breakthrough award, a prestigious international award for mathematics, life science and fundamental physics studies. Born in Rome 74 years ago, Cern physicist and Infn associate, Ferrara is awarded with Daniel Freedman (Mit and Stanford University) and Peter van Nieuwenhuizen (Stony Brook University). They are considered the architects of supergravity, the theory that realizes Einstein's dream by unifying relativity and particle physics.
