Ganzhara emphasized that the accession of Crimea to Russia was the expression of the will of the people in a legal referendum.

“Today, NATO and other structures understand that the unipolar model of peace, imposed after the collapse of the Soviet Union, has exhausted itself. Probably, the reunification of Crimea with Russia has become a catalyst for certain processes around the world. In fact, they still cannot accept what happened five years ago, ”the deputy noted.

At the same time, he noted that in NATO, for example, they are ready to recognize the Golan Heights as part of Israel or Kosovo as a separate entity of international relations, but not the annexation of Crimea to Russia, which occurred in accordance with the will of the people living on the peninsula.

“This is a policy of double standards, to which they explain everything that is beneficial to them, in the right way and in the light, and everything that is disadvantageous, they do not accept and are not ready to put up with this position,” Ganzhara concluded.

Earlier, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg explained the annexation of Crimea to Russia by increased competition between the great powers.

Crimea became the Russian region after a referendum held in March 2014, in which most residents spoke out for reunification with Russia.
