An elderly goat “Yuzu” (9) bred at Obihiro Zoo suddenly lost its left forelimb in November last year and was unable to walk.
The zoo stopped exhibiting outdoors, and “Yuzu” was forced to spend the day sitting in the breeding hut. For this reason, the keepers in charge remodeled the wheelchair for humans and prepared a wheelchair dedicated to Yuzu.
“Yuzu”, which seemed confused at first, was able to walk little by little by using a wheelchair and was able to interact with people who visited the park again.
The woman who visited the zoo said, “I'm doing my best. I want you to live a long life in the future.”
