10 November 2018Confirmed by the Cassation the seizure of the 49 million euros of the League, as decided last September 5 by the Court of review of Genoa on indication of the same supreme court.The ermines have just rejected the appeal by Carroccio lawyers against the preventive seizure order. It can therefore continue the agreement on the 'installment payment' of the debt of the League and, if found, other funds can be seized wherever found.
Salvini: "I respect the sentences, I am not worried"
"Respect the sentences": this is how the leader of the League and vice-premier Matteo Salvini confined himself to answering, to Eicma, the wheel show held in Milan, on the Cassation sentence that confirmed the seizure of the funds of the Carroccio. When asked if he was worried, Salvini replied: "No, I'm more worried about Milan-Juve" tomorrow night.
Centemero: "We will appeal to the European Court"
"The Cassation has definitively endorsed the possibility of seizing totally legitimate sums considering them a profit of the crime. Citizens' contributions, holiday proceeds, etc., are transformed, by sentence, into sums to be seized without there being any connection with the facts of a crime that is disputed to other subjects and to the detriment of the League itself.The violation is so obvious that it will have to be resorted to the European Court to see recognized the reasons that are not only of the party, but of all citizens ". This was declared by Giulio Centemero, treasurer of the League.
