On August 3, already, dozens of Deliveroo delivery men had gathered in Paris to protest against their new fee schedule. AFP / Eric Fefferberg

It is this Wednesday, August 7th at 19:00 that the second gathering organized by Deliveroo's bike deliverers takes place in several French cities. At issue: pay almost halved, they say. This new fee schedule for one of the main players in the delivery of meals in France was announced by email in early July, a mail that was not the first of its kind. RFI met an angry Parisian delivery man.

We were sent an email two or three weeks ago telling us that there will be a rebalancing between long-distance races and short distances. So we thought it might be interesting for us, and we actually realized that the minimum race, the weakest a delivery guy showed me, was 2.66 euros [for a minimum race] at 4.70 euros. [...] They always choose the period when everyone is on vacation.
