Ex-head of the National Bank suspected of complicity in the seizure of $ 6 million

The Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine suspected the former head of the National Bank Valery Gontareva and the former deputy head of the administration of ex-president Petro Poroshenko Boris Filatov in aiding in capturing a stake of $ 6 million.

This was stated by prosecutor general Yuriy Lutsenko.

“In the part of the ICU case, which was involved in a deal between an agrarian fund and one of the banks, as a result of which the money was wasted, if I am not mistaken, 150 million hryvnias (about $ 6 million) were actually stolen,” Lutsenko said, citing him RIA News.

Earlier, lawyer Andrei Portnov said that Ukraine has opened a new case against Poroshenko.

According to him, criminal proceedings can “cover” dozens of people from the politician’s entourage.
