Erdogan said that Turkey decided on a defense contract with Russia, based not on strategic, but purely commercial interests.
Ankara’s choice in favor of the S-400 is explained by the implacable position of its partners, the Turkish leader noted.
Erdogan also noted that "there is no concrete evidence of the harm of the S-400 air defense systems to NATO or F-35 systems."
Earlier, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that Turkey’s S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems acquired by Turkey from Russia would not be integrated into the Alliance’s integrated missile defense system.
