White House National Security Adviser John Bolton said North Korea had agreed not to test a long-range missile between US President George W. Bush and North Korean leader Kim Jong-il, Reuters reported.
"We are watching the situation very carefully," Bolton said in an interview with Fox News this morning.
It is the US government's view that the launch vehicle launched at dawn today by North Korea is not a violation of promise between North Korea and the United States because of its short-range ballistic missile.
US Defense Secretary Mark Esper, who is visiting Japan, told reporters he would not be overly sensitive to North Korea's missile launches in recent weeks.
In April, North Korea declared a ceasefire of its nuclear test and intercontinental ballistic missile tests at the Labor Party meeting in April, and it is known that Kim made a promise to President Trump during the North American summit.
