The United Arab Emirates welcomed the agreement on the constitutional document in the brotherly Sudan and its initial signature.

A statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation said that the signing of the constitutional declaration between the representatives of the military junta and the main opposition coalition is the cornerstone for achieving the progress and prosperity of the Sudanese people.

"The UAE reaffirms its support for the political process in the brotherly Sudan, and urges all political and popular parties to unite and take the national interest in order for Sudan to move towards stability," the statement said.

The African Union also welcomed yesterday the agreement of the Sudanese parties and the signing of the Constitutional Declaration as a "qualitative leap".

A statement issued by the Chairperson of the African Commission, Moussa Faki, that it welcomes the agreement on the constitutional document, and initialed between the Transitional Military Council and the forces of freedom and change in Sudan.

"This move is a qualitative step that will lay the foundations for a democratic transition with a civilian-led government, an important achievement for Africa in its desire to solve its problems," he said.

He congratulated the political, civil and military actors who overcome their differences by placing the interests of the country above all other considerations.

He urged all partners and parties to redouble their efforts to provide the Sudan and its transitional authorities with the necessary support during this major phase of the country's history.

Faki stressed the African Union's continued commitment to support the Sudanese people and the various parties in their quest for peace, reconciliation and prosperity.

The African mediator Mohamed Hassan Ould Lebat, said yesterday, that his mission is over, and will leave Sudan because the mandate set by the African Union ended, declaring optimism about the success of the experiment.

As for the difficulty of the mission, Ould Labat said: "It was a difficult and painful day. We were afraid that things would turn to the fate of other countries lost in the region, but we never gave up.

"It is important that the forces of freedom and change take note of three things: the counterrevolution or apostasy, the unity of the components of freedom and change, and the relationship with the regular forces, especially the army and rapid support," he said. .

At the end of his remarks, Ould Labat said: "The Sudanese people are great and solid. He defended firmly his freedom and the establishment of a civil state. I will write a full volume on this station, which I consider the most important in my diplomatic career, in my work with the African Union, and we hope the success of the experiment if the Sudanese political and civil forces take these requirements, and the warnings.
