05 August 201913.48 Another serious loss in the family of Commissioner Montalbano. The historical director of the films based on the novels of Camilleri, Alberto Sironi, died. Lombardo di Busto Arsizio, Sironi was 79 years old. It was he who chose Luca Zingaretti to play the Vigata Commissioner. He had recently discovered he was sick. The last shots of the new Montalbano episodes for this very reason have been directed by Zingaretti. In Rai, where he started collaborating in the seventies, he also directed "Il grande Fausto", on the life of Coppi.
