“As of 07:00 (02:00 Moscow time), there are 125 fires in Bodaibo, Kazachinsko-Lensky, Katangsky, Kachugsky, Kirensky, Mamsko-Chuysky, Nizhneilimsky, Ust-Ilimsky, Ust-Kutsky districts on an area of ​​613030.7 hectares , of which 12 fires are localized on an area of ​​10,964.7 hectares, ”the statement says.

It is specified that the use of aviation by the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Defense has reduced the area of ​​active forest fires.

“Compared with the previous day, the number of fires decreased by 11, the area of ​​existing fires decreased by 122908.5 hectares,” the Ministry of Emergency Situations added.

Earlier it was reported that the Ministry of Defense aircraft in four days extinguished fires on an area of ​​753 thousand hectares in the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Irkutsk Region.

On August 1, the Ministry of Emergency Situations called a long-term drought and the absence of active measures to extinguish most fires as the main cause of the spread of fires in Siberia.
