The US president tweeted Monday morning to propose to further regulate gun sales in the United States. He could not help but tie a potential future law to immigration reform.

US President Donald Trump proposed Monday to further regulate gun sales in the United States, while renewing its call for migration reform after a weekend marked by two deadly shootings.

"We can not let those who died in El Paso, Texas, and in Dayton, Ohio, die in vain," he wrote on Twitter. "Republicans and Democrats must come together and get robust background checks, perhaps by coupling this law with desperately needed migration reform."
