04 August 2019The balance sheet of the summer exodus weekend of this first weekend of August is positive, marked by a black dot yesterday and red today on the 30,000 km of road and motorway network managed by Anas (a company of the Fs Group). Despite the increase in traffic flows, the inconveniences have been contained and no particular problems have been reported.

In the afternoon on Friday and throughout the day on Saturday, most departures from large urban centers to tourist resorts were concentrated. Sustained traffic, in particular, along the following routes: in Friuli Venezia Giulia, on the Highway Junctions RA13 and RA14 towards the border crossings; along the SS36 "of Lake Como and Spluga", the SS26 "Valle d'Aosta", the SS51 "di Alemagna" and the SS309 "Romea"; along the main roads SS1 "Aurelia", SS16 "Adriatica", SS106 "Jonica" and SS18 "Tirrena Inferiore"; heavy traffic also on the A2 "Autostrada del Mediterraneo" and, in Sicily, along the A29 motorway "Palermo-Mazara del Vallo" and the Catania bypass.

As for today's day, circulation in the late afternoon and evening hours will be characterized above all by returns from the weekend. To facilitate travel, the ban on heavy goods vehicles is in effect until 10 pm this evening.

Finally, ANAS recalls that the morning of next Saturday, 10 August, is marked by a black stamp in anticipation of large departures along the holiday itineraries.
