The Egyptian Ministry of Health announced the evacuation of 54 cases that were booked inside the National Cancer Institute in Manial area in Cairo after the collision that left 19 people dead and 30 others injured. The ministry decided to transfer 30 cases from the Oncology Institute to Nasser Institute Hospital. The remainder to the Dar es Salaam Hermel Hospital, with guidance to provide all their care.

According to a statement by the Egyptian Interior Ministry, one of the speeding cars was driving in the wrong direction on Corniche El Nile Street in front of the Oncology Institute, and collided with a number of 3 cars, which led to an explosion as a result of the collision.

The spokesman of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Khalid Mujahid, said that there are 3 to 4 critical cases in intensive care in the Institute of Nasser Hospital, and the rest of the injuries ranged between fractures simple to medium, in addition to the incidence of burns to varying degrees, and cuts in different parts of the body .

Mujahid pointed out that the Minister of Health and Population, Dr. Hala Zayed, inspected the conditions of the injured to check on their health, and spoke with the families of the injured to reassure them, and offered condolences to the families of the deceased, and directed a team of psychiatry to provide psychological support for them.

Mujahid added that the minister stressed the need to raise the degree of readiness for the extreme situation, where the professors and consultants from all disciplines, especially micro-surgery, were summoned, as well as the blood balances at the Institute of Nasser Hospital and its readiness to provide all aspects of care for the injured.
