At least 17 people have died and 32 have been injured by an explosion of vehicles in front of an oncology hospital in Cairo, in circumstances that are not yet clear, an official source said.

The Minister of Health, Hala Zaid , told the CBC Extra channel of Egyptian television that this is the number of victims of the explosion, which occurred in front of the National Cancer Institute in Cairo.

The explosion, which allegedly occurred when a vehicle collided into reverse in the street , caused a fire that has affected part of the hospital, according to the state agency MENA.
