WASHINGTON (Reuters) - US President Donald Trump has offered Republicans and Democrats consensus on tightening arms controls, linking it to his immigration reform project in the wake of the Texas and Ohio shooting that killed nearly 30 people.

Trump has called for an end to years of shooting, adding that hatred has no place in the United States.

"We can not leave the souls of those who died in El Paso in Texas and in Dayton, Ohio, to go in vain," Trump said through his Twitter account. "As well as those who have been seriously injured, we can not forget them and forget many who have been subjected to it before."

We can not let those killed in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, die in vain. Likewise for those so seriously wounded. We can never forget them, and those many who came before them. Republicans and Democrats must come together and get strong background checks, sometimes marrying ....

"Republicans and Democrats must unite, scrutinize the background of the subject, and perhaps link the law to the immigration reform that we desperately need," he said, stressing that "something good, perhaps even great, must come out of these tragic events."

Responsibility of the media
Trump blamed the media for "fomenting anger." "The media have a great responsibility for life and safety in our country," he wrote through his Twitter account.

The Media has a big responsibility to life and safety in our country. Fake News has contributed greatly to the anger and rage that has built up over many years. News coverage has got to start being fair, balanced and unbiased, or these terrible problems will only get worse!

"The false news has contributed greatly to fueling the anger and discontent that has accumulated over many years," he said, noting that "media coverage must be balanced and unbiased, or else these terrible problems will worsen."

According to the White House, President Trump is scheduled to address the nation in response to the Texas and Ohio shooting incidents.

The United States has been witness to repeated intensive firing, which resulted in hundreds of deaths as yesterday's incidents, and thousands of Americans staged mass demonstrations during the last two years specifically, to ask the US administration to take the necessary measures to end the chaos of arms and restrict the sale of automatic weapons.
